The Prizes

At the end of the 2011 Summer Reading Program, one person will be chosen from all the participants for the Grand Prize: a $50 Amazon.com gift certificate.

The Charity

The Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF) has been providing childrens books to libraries in rural Vermont and New Hampshire since 1998. CLiF now runs sixteen different programs to promote literacy for kids.

For each person who participates in the 2011 Summer Reading Program, I will donate $1 to CLiF, up to $100. The more people that get involved, the more money that will be donated.

In addition, I will be challenging myself to read 20 books this summer. I will donate an additional $5 per book, making the total possible donation $200.

I do not benefit financially or in any other way except for meeting (if only virtually) a bunch of great people who like to read.
