Bear Pond Books
June 15, 2009
Bear Pond Books is an independent bookstore in Montpelier, Vermont. It opened over thirty-five years ago in 1973, and has not only survived but thrives at a time when bookstores face great economic challenges. You can read about their adventures on their website.
They have generously agreed to be a sponsor for the 2009 SRP. For every 25 people that participate, Bear Pond Books will donate one book to the Children's Literacy Foundation, up to four books! The more people who add a book to the list, the more books that will be donated.
If you'd like to support Bear Pond Books, stop by their location at 77 Main Street in Montpelier, or check out their online store!
Running the Summer Reading Program has been fun, both for myself and the participants. After the success of last year I wondered if this little idea could grow in any way. I'd like to introduce you to this year's sponsor: Bear Pond Books.

Ooo, sponsors. Hmm, this little contest is getting bigger and bigger. Soon we're all going to have to wear team jerseys.
I've been thinking t-shirts but not sure if we'll get there this year.
This is great, Todd. Do we have an official start date? I'm not one to cheat.
Often :)
Next Monday, June 22nd, 12 am, Eastern Standard Time.
Or, as soon as I fix up the submission form. :-)
Though based on the comment by Rick O, some may be getting a head start.
This is most excellent. FWIW (i.e. for the lack of "spreading the word" my little blog is capable of doing), I'll be linking this and spreading the word to my tens of readers.
I would appreciate that, Nathan. I keep wavering between very excited and very anxious about setting the bar higher this year. I foresee a lot of begging and pleading for web visitors in my future.
I'll mention it, too :)
Many thanks!
Ready to rock with the summer reading! MJD
Excellent. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading.
