2009 Summer Reading Program

The Rules

  1. Read a book between June 22 - August 16.
  2. Click here to add the book to the reading list. [Contest completed - thanks for playing!]
  3. That's it!

The Sponsor

Bear Pond Books is an independent bookstore in Montpelier, Vermont. They have generously agreed to sponsor the 2009 Summer Reading Program.

For every 25 people that participate, Bear Pond Books will donate one book to the Children's Literacy Foundation, up to four books! The more people who add a book to the list, the more books that will be donated.

If you'd like to support Bear Pond Books, stop by their location at 77 Main Street in Montpelier, or check out their online store!

Amount Donated: $23

Books Donated: 0

The Charity

The Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF) has been providing childrens books to libraries in rural Vermont and New Hampshire since 1998. CLiF now runs fifteen different programs to promote literacy for kids.

For each person who participates in the 2009 Summer Reading Program, I will donate $1 to CLiF, up to $100. The more people who add a book to the list, the more money that will be donated.

If you'd like to help CLiF, browse on over to their support page.

The Prizes!

Each week one person will be chosen at random for a Summer Fun Package. You must add a book to the list that week to be eligible. The more you read, the more chances you have to win.

At the end of the 2009 Summer Reading Program, one person will be chosen from all the participants for the Grand Prize: a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate.

So read, read, read! And tell your friends to add their books to the list to help a great charity!

The Disclaimer

The 2009 Summer Reading Program is all about fun and charity. I am not a representative or employee of CLiF or Bear Pond Books. I do not benefit financially or in any other way except for meeting (if only virtually) a bunch of great people who like to read. All donations are made directly to CLiF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
