Round 5 Winner
August 18, 2008
We're heading into the final stretch with two more weeks to go. The kitty is up to $74 and I'm sure you all will push it over the top before we're done.
Reading and writing is hard work. Chocolate is a good way to replenish energy. The prize for round 5 is a bag of custom printed M&M's. And the winner is Random Michelle!
The grand prize drawing will be held on September 1st. Unlike the other rounds, all entries for the entire contest will be eligible. In addition, a prize will be given for the most entries during the contest. Keep up the good work!

ooohh..Random Michelle, I want to know what's on the M&Ms. I went into this with the best of intentions but I can't even get through my Jodi Piccult now for all the time I'm spending finishing my own. I do hope you hit your goal of $100 :)
I'll leave it as a surprise, but will say the M&Ms have very pedestrian text on them. The $100 is looking very possible for which I am humbled and grateful for each and every entry.
Yeah Random Michelle!
Yay me!
I managed to beat out that dratted Anon for another round! Woot! Woot!
Custom printed M&Ms! How positively swank!
Now I just have to get moving on the Sean Russell I'm reading, or I'm not going to have *any* books read for the 1 September drawing!
(scurries off)
I call for new rules.
First of all, that book by Vernor Vinge, that I thought I'd totally like (cause it's by Vernor Vinge), kinda brought my reading to a standstill. Second, I'm less than two weeks from the first day of Principal Photography on a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE (ok, a freakin' TV movie), but it's cutting into my reading time big time.
Stupid working to make a living.
I think this whole thing should be handicapped like golf. I'm busy, so I should get spotted 12 books. Michelle reads 32 pages per minute.
You do the math. ( I can't. Really. No, REALLY, I CAN'T).
Really now. You did win a prize, Nathan. Some people haven't gotten anything. Besides, you told Michelle to come over here! ;-)
I think the multiple prizes is a good format. Last year it was all or nothing. I am already thinking about next year. Perhaps some token for each participant would be appropriate. And if I can swing some kind of sponsor/matching money, that would be very cool.
Your comment reminded me of the commercial with the mother bitching at her kids, "Some people don't have any rollover minutes." Made me snort a little.
