2012 Summer Reading Concluded

Every year time flies, summer dwindles, and the Virtual Summer Reading Program comes to a close. This year sixteen people participated and read 100 books! A lot of intriguing titles which does nothing good for my own reading list.

I managed to get through nine books myself, well short of my target, but a decent stack in a busy summer. Between our efforts, I will be donating a total of $63 to the Prison Book Program.

A couple very generous folks also pledged support based on the number of books they read this summer. Another $31 was added, making the grand total $94! Well done and thank you!

And now for the prizes. Winners were chosen at random using the number generator at random.org. The runner up who will receive a signed copy of my book Garbageland is Kristin Jones! And the grand prize winner of a $50 Amazon gift certificate is Megan Call!

Congrats to them and to all of you for your reading success. Keep reading all year. Keep reading to kids. Keep supporting your libraries and literacy organizations. Hope to see you all next year!
