Grand Prize

      September 1, 2008
  Contest Results

Over two and a half months, eleven participants read seventy-eight different authors for a total of ninety-eight books. I am amazed and humbled by all the contestants.

The grand prize winner of the 2008 Summer Reading Contest is:

Steve!

He didn't read the most but when random selection is the rule, it is better to be lucky than good. Steve gets the grand prize of an Amazon gift certificate for $25.

But wait! That's not all. With a total of 36 books (almost one every two days) the prize for most prolific reader goes to Anonymous! That person will receive a bag of customized M&Ms (which finally arrived).

But wait! There's still more! Besides the fun and games the real goal here is to make a donation. The charity this year is Building New Hope and their project Yo Puedo Leer which supports libraries in Nicaragua. Ninety-eight contest entries would mean $98. You all did so well, I'm going to round it up to $100.

Congratulations to all the winners. Many thanks to all the participants. You all rock.

Congrats Steve! I just realized that's two years in a row you've taken the top prize. We might have to retire your number. ;-)

Hey, It's not like I wouldn't have read those books anyway. I love making someone else pay for it.
